Hiryū is a standout autumn-to-winter flowering camellia renowned for its tough, upright, and bushy growth habit. It typically matures to around 2-4 m in height and 1.5-2 m in width. The plant’s standout feature is the striking contrast between its glossy, deep green, leathery leaves and its vibrant, semi-double blooms, which have ruffled petals that shade from rose-pink to bright cerise or deep crimson-red at the edges. It puts on a spectacular floral display when most other garden plants are dormant.
Popular for use as a hedge and providing color in autumn and winter.
