Lithodora ‘Snow Carpet’ is a low-growing, evergreen perennial that forms a mat of dark green foliage and is covered in small, white, star-shaped flowers during spring and summer. It thrives in sunny to partially shaded locations with well-drained soil, particularly sandy or loamy soil. Lithodora ‘Snow Carpet’ is relatively low-maintenance, requiring regular watering, especially when first planted, and occasional pruning to maintain shape after flowering. 

Cultivation Details:
  • Sunlight: Full sun to partial shade. Afternoon shade is beneficial in hot climates. 
  • Soil: Well-drained soil is crucial. Lithodora does not tolerate heavy, wet soils. Sandy or loamy soil is ideal. 
  • Watering: Water regularly, especially when first planted, to establish the roots. Avoid overwatering and soggy soil. 
  • Fertilizing: Generally, no fertilizer is needed unless the leaves turn pale. If needed, use a fertilizer for acid-loving plants (like those for rhododendrons or azaleas) in late winter or early spring.
